Imagine meJ!! (Exercise No. 1: Visualization)

DESCRIPTION
The act or power of forming a mental image of something not present or not previously known is what we call “visualization”. Through our creative minds we can have an imagery of something even if it is just represented by words. It’s indeed true that each of us have our own unique meaning, we differ from our imagination. It is possible that what we think that symbolizes to a particular word is different from what others think which suits for a particular word.

LEARNING’S

In this very first activity, actually it enhances and sharpens my imagination and visualization skills. It also challenges me to think for a particular object that will really suit to the followings words that was given by Ma’am Janice Dupal. Basically, it is not an easy task, you need to concentrate and focus in order to decide what object will symbolize the words which are as follows, freedom, unity, strength and energy. After having the final object that I choose to represent the word, I directly draw those words. I enjoy this activity because it also refreshes my hidden talent or skill in drawing. By this simple activity, I can also express my feelings.

Sketch itJ!! (Exercise No. 2: Bottle and Plant with Shades)

DESCRIPTION
Seeing the bottle of Maria Clara and a plant beside it makes me wonder and think what we are going to do in this next activity. I thought we are going to use the bottle in making a recyclable and alternative flower vase, but my expectations is definitely wrong. Instead, we are going to draw once again the figure of bottle and plant, not just simply drawing it but also we are going to use shading. On the lower left part of the bond paper there is a rectangular bar in which the ascending level of the darkness of shading is shown.

LEARNING’S
By this activity, it helps me a lot to control my hand on how to show the difference on the level of shading. In continuation of enhancing my skills in drawing, it really contributes a big factor on how to use proper shading to add beautification and realistic overview of my work of art. It’s also a challenging task, though it’s not that easy but seeing its finished work, satisfies and amaze me once again because I didn’t expect that I too can possibly draw a work of art like this.

FacemakeJ!! (Exercise No. 3: The Human Face)

DESCRIPTION
When Ma’am Janice Dupal posted a chart containing a consecutive sketch of the human face, it craves and motivates me to draw my own piece of art of a human face. In this activity, there is a continuous step-by-step process on the proper way of drawing a human face. At first, you need to draw the shape of the face which is ovular or oblong. Then, the face will be divided by a vertical line putting at the center as well as the 2 horizontal lines in order to balance the eyes and nose. Afterwards, in the next figure you need to draw the ears, and then you will now draw the eyes, nose, eyebrows, and mouth. And lastly, to polish its overall appearance you need to draw the hair to distinguish their gender whether a boy or a girl.

LEARNING’S
Thus, in performing this activity I acquire another knowledge and idea on how to draw properly a human face, an easy way to perfectly balance the eyes and nose. Honestly, before it is really hard for me to balance the eyes and nose of the cartoon character I draw but because of this activity in Ed. Tech. I will never find it hard to draw a human face. Indeed, I exerted much more effort and push myself to the limits because no one could really help me to possibly accomplish this task. I’m so much blessed because God never put me into shame that’s why I possibly draw another piece of art of mine.

Shade, shadow, shadeJ!! (Exercise No. 4: Nine Techniques)

DESCRIPTION
Different types of shading strokes as the shadow of a tree? In fact, so interesting, am I right? Another challenging and a tiring activity but this really gives the essence of this activity on how to show different techniques in putting a shadow on a particular object. I draw exactly 10 trees with same appearance, size and shape but then it will really differ on the strokes of its shadow. These are as follows: horizontal, vertical, diagonal, cross, zigzag, spirals, circles, dots, smudge and a combination of any of the 9 techniques of strokes.

LEARNING’S
Such a great activity that causes my hands to tremble but I enjoy a lot in performing this activity. I obtain another helpful knowledge in using different techniques in shading a particular object. It adds creativity and beauty to the art work. I can really apply this skill if ever I there is a need of putting a shade on my piece of art. Actually, in my own stand and preference I think the best stroke that I will use is the smudge because this type of technique is impressive and it catches the attention of the viewer.

Blind-artJ!! (Exercise No. 5: Non-objective Shapes)

DESCRIPTION
Non-objective art or shape is another way to refer to Abstract art. Essentially, the artwork does not represent or depict a person, place or thing in the natural world. Usually, the content of the work is its color, shapes, size, scale, and, in some cases, its process. A term used to describe visual art which is not based on existing, observable forms, but rather on abstract or idealized forms. This is the next activity which again makes me wonder why there is a need to bring handkerchief. When Ma’am Janice told us to use the handkerchief as a blindfold and start to draw on the cartolina using a marker, this answers my hesitation.

LEARNING’S
I learned that it’s really hard to live in darkness, I now understand and sympathized the feeling of being a blind man. Though, it’s not that easy task, but I appreciate the essence of this activity. Nevertheless, there is indeed an art out of writing without any direction. I learned also, that if you have an imaginative mind you will see the beauty of abstract arts or nonrepresentational arts like this activity. I will never forget this one of a kind experience making an artwork while you are blindfolded, it’s amazing. Lastly, I gain knowledge on using a good color combination that will also add creativeness in my work.

Lights,[OHP],ProjectJ!! (Exercise No. 6: Overhead Projector)

DESCRIPTION
A device that projects an enlarged image of written or pictorial material onto a wall or screen from a transparency placed horizontally illuminated from below is what we call an overhead projector. In this activity, using the semi-detailed lesson plan that Ma’am Janice told us to prepare, I transferred the lesson proper which I will use in the discussion part using a transparency film and also a marker. In order to capture learner’s interest and attention I did not just use plain words but also I draw some images that relate to my topic and will really help me motivate the listeners.

LEARNING’S
I learned that it’s one way that helps teacher maintain an eye contact to make an interactive way of teaching and learning process using overhead projector. In performing this activity, I also learned that using this technology can help me as a future prospect teacherof the new generation to make my lesson more interesting, if ever it is available in the school where I am assigned with. I will now have enough knowledge and experience using this kind of technology.

Text-typeJ!! (Exercise No. 7: Microsoft Word)

DESCRIPTION
A computer application which enables us to encode and make our research papers, summaries, information dissemination, hand-outs, reports to become possible. In this activity, you need to first have a copy of your detailed lesson plan to directly proceed in encoding it and make a soft copy of your lesson plan. Furthermore, there is also a need to follow the format required by Ma’am Janice to perfectly accomplish this task. Lastly, you also need to pass it online at g-mail wherein you are going to attach this file.

LEARNING’S

In this activity, you are going to input the names of your prospect student, as well as the score they garner during quizzes, examinations, participations, etc. Then, using this application computes the grade of the students and also verifies if they passed or failed.

LEARNING’S
Indeed, this activity refreshes my stock knowledge on using Microsoft Excel, I think the last time I worked on this application was when I was in my freshmen year in our computer science class. It will really help teachers in such an easy way of computing student’s grades. Moreover, I learned that it provides a visual representation of data reduces the difficulty of plotting data and allows students a means for interpreting the data. It can also be sent through Emails, is widely used, secure, and is portable.
